The Galaxy S23 launch has been pretty successful so far for Samsung. All the phones in the series have received glowing reviews and record-breaking pre-orders in several countries. However, no smartphone launch is perfect, and there are bound to be some issues that arise in the first few days. Some Galaxy S23 users are now reporting that they’re facing issues related to Wi-Fi.
Some Galaxy S23 units are displaying the “Connected without internet” message even if they are connected to a Wi-Fi router with an active internet connection. This issue has affected our Galaxy S23 Ultra, but the Galaxy S23 and the Galaxy S23+ don’t seem to be affected by the problem. It is reported that the issue is appearing on phones connected to a Wi-Fi 6 network. Even if the option to switch to mobile data in the Intelligent Wi-Fi section is disabled, the problem persists.
Galaxy S23’s Wi-Fi problem could be fixed with the next software update
Right now, the only solution to the problem is to turn off Wi-Fi and turn it on. It is reported that Samsung is working on this issue, which could be solved with the next software update. Since all three devices in the lineup use the same Wi-Fi chip and processor, and only the Galaxy S23 Ultra is facing this issue, it may be software related.
If you have the same problem on your Galaxy S23 series smartphone, you can check it after connecting it to a Wi-Fi 5 network instead to see if the problem persists. In any case, Samsung could solve this issue pretty soon.
